Josiah appeared to be in a positive mood evident by his facial expressions such as a smile on the face and his overall disposition. QMHP-C engaged Mother in a discussion to determine behaviors since the last session. Mother reports he continues to struggle with not being able to control his anger. 2. Behavior: Josiah needing redirection for being withdrawn from the session when discussing his frustration skills. 3.Behavior: Josiah was not cooperative evident by him screaming at his mother and brother when discussing his behaviors in the home setting. 1.Intervention: QMHP-C began the session by inquiring about Josiah's emotional well-being. QMHP-C initiated an individual session with Josiah to assist him with expressing feelings of anger through appropriate verbalizations or healthy physical outlets on a consistent basis. QMHP-C instructed Josiah to engage in playing cards as a relaxation technique. 2. Intervention: QMHP-C engaged Josiah in general conversation as the game progressed (i.e.; peer interactions, and other topics to increase his attentiveness). QMHP-C instructed Josiah to share his thought feelings and perception related to learning how to engage in the use of social interaction skills to improve the decrease of his frustration and his anger. 3.Intervention: QMHP-C actively listened as Josiah shared his thoughts. QMHP-C encouraged Josiah to engage in utilizing the anger control skills he has learned prior to session when intense situations occur. QMHP-C provided Josiah with support through active listening, paraphrasing, tone, and summarizing what he was discussing with QMHP-C. 1.Response:. Josiah was receptive to QMHP-C's suggestions for today's session. While exploring Josiahâs current thoughts, feelings, and emotions, Josiah indicated to QMHP-C that he was in a good mood. Josiah was receptive of the session as evident of his participation with the relaxation technique and the social interaction skills to improve his control of anger. 2.Response: Josiah appeared to understand how to engage other people and practice appropriate communication skills and the importance of making sure that he controls his anger in an assertive manner. 3. Response: Josiah admitted to his explosive behaviors and not following through with techniques discussed during previous sessions. Josiah agreed to utilize calming techniques but clearly stated "I don't think about that when I'm mad."
